The word diet comes from the word dieta in Greek, meaning; way of life.
If we perceive our “diet” as a matter of restriction, self discipline and self denial, we will forever be on the rat wheel of dieting, never finding pleasure or true satiation in the food we consume.
If we perceive our diet as a way of life however, this can actually encourage us to fall in love with healthy, vibrant, nutritious foods, as we begin to feel better, look better and be better. We have become so disconnected from what we eat, much because of clever marketing, distractions, doing other things whilst we consume food, yet our relationship with food tends to be all consuming. Most of us struggle with what we should eat vs what we want to eat and if the latter wins out then we feel guilty for the choices we make.
LLB’s Healthy Habits program is designed to help you cut through the noise, buzz words and diet hype of a health industry gone slightly mad. These days we seem to normalise our lack of radiance and abundant energy, our inability to digest meals properly, our gut issues, sleep issues or stress related issues. We put our joint pain, abdominal fat and prescription medications down to “just getting older”.
